-
They were emergency foster parents to many children in
difficult circumstances. They ended up adopting many of these children and
helped them get good starts in life.
-
They helped Southeast Asian refugees establish new lives
in The U.S.
-
In Salt Lake City they established Literacy Volunteers of
America Wasatch Front (LVAWF) to help refugees in Utah. Don financially
supported this agency by buying a building to house the office. They again
sponsored many refugee families until his retirement. They still support
LVAWF with office space.
-
Since Don’s retirement, he has served as a consultant for
the United Nations in India and in Russia.
